Reduced engine power - Now won't start

Hi everyone, first post here.

I'm really hoping someone can help. I own a 2012 Equinox 2LT. I filled up this morning, same place I always go and it drove perfect. Short while later I go out, stay for 2 hours, no issues. After that, I leave to go home, and that's where the issues started.

1- Started ok, but ran rough.
2- Driving home (5 min ride) is was running very rough, almost stalling.
3- Got the Reduced Engine Power message, Stabilitrack.... and then it simply died as I was pulling up the driveway.
4- Now it won't start, just turns over.

I seems like I'm not getting fuel to the engine? Not sure.

I have a cheap ODBC reader and it returned a few codes at the beginning and I was able to clear those. Tried to start it again, same thing. Just turns over and won't fire. Disconnected the battery for 15 minutes. Tried to start again, same thing. Now it's reading a strange code: B2aaa Pe.

Any ideas?

Well . . what were the codes? Doesn't do any good to read some codes with a scanner and then just clear them ? ?

You want help, but destroy the evidence SMH

Re: Reduced engine power - Now won't start

So the new code now is P228d Pe.

And I looked at my phone (I actually recorded the initial codes) : P0089 and I believe the other was P0071

Still won't start lol

I'm no mechanic, but it seriously sound like there is no fuel being pumped. I sure hope it's not the fuel pump.

Well, the P0089 is a fuel pressure regulator DTC.... so maybe HPFP or defective regulator .. . or even the tank fuel pump.

Should be able to check it there is fuel flow.

That would make sense since it doesn't sound like there is fuel going to the engine. Maybe I should stop reading online stuff cause it's causing me nightmares, but is there any chance this could be a timing chain issue?

Re: Reduced engine power - Now won't start

There have been numerous side issues associated with the timing chain as well. When you say "it won't start", does the engine turn over with the starter or of just a "click"? Also if it does turn over, does it sound normal while cranking?

Well, Wondering what you mean by it "sounds" like it isn't getting fuel.
