Question AC works sometimes

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with my AC in my 2010 Terrain. When it gets really hot outside (90+ degrees) the AC just blows warm air. But when the temps are in the 70's or 80's the AC blows cold air like normal. I had the freon recharged a month or two ago. My mechanic also put dye in to see if the freon was leaking. After some hot days when the AC stopped blowing cold air again I took it back to him and he said that the condenser was leaking. After the temps went down again the AC blew cold air again. Has anyone else had an issue like this before? And could there be another issue besides the condenser?

When the A/C is not blowing cold air is the compressor engaged and turning?
Not just the outer ring where the belt rides but the center of the compressor.
It has to turn or you will never get any cold air.

If yes the next step is to put on a set of gages and see what you have for high and low pressure.
You might have a weak compressor or a blockage in the system.
