First off, you don't mention what the asking price is, that makes a difference.
Just make sure you go into this knowing that you are buying a 12 year old, high mile vehicle.
You more than likely will have to spend some serious dollars if you keep it for several years.
Cadillac parts, if they are still available, can be expensive.
The first step is to take it to a trusted mechanic to have him look it over and tell you what it probably will need.
If you have a serious love affair going here and can do most of the work yourself I would go for it.
The key here is you doing some or most of the labor yourself.
That way you are not spending $100 to $125 per hour for labor every time it needs something.
