Tap + and - Butto for Manual shift mode not working- 2010 Terrain 2.4 slt 2w

My switch hasn't worked for sometime- thought I would try to replace. Anyone done this? Could use some advice. I searched forum couldn't find info.
Other than replacing the whole shifter.

Thanks

Anyway, in a nutshell, my +/- buttons dont work either and when I put it in M, the cluster comes up as M1, and it wont change gears.

I've drive while shifting, nope. stoped and tried to shift, nope.

Afew posters on here told me unless I tow alot, or drive in moutains(I dont) then there is no point in wasting money on fixing this.

Is it not shifting while you're trying to put to gears or? Because I just know you can shift it but when you go to a stop it won't shift back to M1 since it just went automatic mode

After I bought my used 2011, I found that my m shift didn't work. The dealer took it back and fixed it.
It was a cable connection.

When it worked you could go into manual mode and shift with the tap button up or down, which I found handy if you were heading down a hill and even going up to stop the tranny from constantly changing gears. The other time I used it was in a 40 km zone to keep my speed from creeping up into the Ticket Zone.
The manual mode still works- say you are doing 60 and bring it into manual mode it goes into the right gear , say m5 but then you can't change it up or down with the button.

Thanks - did the invoice give a description of the work performed? Was it at a GM dealer?

I have lived without it and will in the future if it is a big expense- I am going to check with my Tranny guy on the next checkup. If I find out I will post.
Thanks

It was done at a Honda dealership.
No description of how it was done.
Just that the cable to the transmission was broken.
