Well, Stacy shamelessly promoted this Forum over at the Enclave Forum and after spending some quality time with a loaded 2010 today, I decided to sign up here.  I'm an Enclave owner since June 2007 and expect our next vehicle to be the Terrain or one of the siblings.

If I can't shamelessly promote one of my forums on another of my forums, enclaveforum.net may have never existed! Tongue Welcome 2Much!

Fair enough, and I would be seriously remiss if I didn't express a big THANKS TO ADMIN for all the great attention to details and being responsive to suggestions.   Grin   Also, thanks for hosting the Enclave Forum early on - 4,000 members!  Wow.

Add one more member from both the Acadia and Enclave forums.  Nice work on both sites Admin.  My wife and I have a 2008 Acadia and my parents have a 2008 Enclave.

A job change in 2010 might mean my company car is turned in.  If so, an Equinox LTZ, fwd, with moon roof will be ordered.  Before the company car, I had a 2005 Equinox and was happy with it.  Sold it because there was no need for 3 vehicles.

I'm a new Terrain owner, I've had my vehicle for about a month and put about 1600km on it so far.
I just finished up a 3 year lease on an 07 Canyon that was the vehicle that followed a 4 year lease on an 03 Sonoma(both 4x4 CrewCabs).
I've been a poster on Canyon Fans & GMIN for a few years under the same screen name.

Jeremy from Barrie, ON. Had an 08 Equinox and just bought a 2010 GMC Terrain Carbon Black SLT-2 V6, w/Nav, w/Rear seat entertainment and Trailer Towing Package. Didn't start off too well. Drive over nails on the way home from the dealership and blew one of the 19" tires. Then at 184 KM's a rock hit the windshield on the highway created a huge crack. But the truck itself has been great. It's just myself and my 5 year old son who loves the LCD's in the back. I have an xbox setup as well as AppleTV. So lots of entertainment choices LOL. We are leaving the 22nd for Saint John, NB (16 hour drive) so it will be a good test. The only thing I have been dissapointed about is the gas MPG. The dealer told me I would get around 1000 KM's per tank of gas. I am getting around 600 (11 l/100KM).

Dave from Orlando.Florida...I ordered a Terrain..SLT-1..Black Onynx with Jet Black Interior..I ordered the V6 cause knowing me if I ordered the 4 sometime down the line I probably would have wanted the 6..We are trying to get back to Buffalo NY where my roots are and there are mucho hills on the way back there if we ever sell our house here in Orlando..Anyways I have a Rav4,4 cylinder and if I enjoy the Terrain as much as the Rav4 I will def be happy..I think the Terrain is alittle more roomy and the SLT-1 has more on it..

I have not received a build date yet but the dealer told me the end of January..I got what I wanted and more for the Rav4 and just hope I do not have to wait too long for delivery..Only good thing is we are not going anywhere for awhile and have the time....Thanks

My wife and I just traded her 2008 Mazda3 hatchback for a 2010 GMC Terrain SLE-2.

We had our first kid in April this year so we've been looking for something with a bit more rear passenger room and we like the idea of something that sits up higher with better safety (rear side air-bags FTW!)

With my wife driving 40 miles to work and back each day, we really didn't want to get an SUV/Crossover that had crap gas milage so when we hard about the Terrain's 2.4 engine with ECO that gets 22/32 we were interested.

I was impressed with the quality of the car and the handling, even with the ECO mode.

After doing some research and reading some initial reviews, we pulled the trigger.

As far as a little more about me, I run an online gaming site for Xbox (TeamXbox.com) and I've always been into cars.  Grew up with my dad as a car salesman and car enthusiast so I've always loved cars, particular classic Amercian muscle.  I currently have a 2006 Corvette and my dad just got a 2010 Camaro.

With the 9 month old, we needed a family friendly car that is still fun to drive and something that can give us some room to grow.  I don't want to have to get rid of the Corvette, so the Terrain was a great choice as our 2nd car.

I've been around forums for a long time and have always joing a forum each time I've had a new car.  So I've been a member of a number of forums for everything from Mustang, to Mazda, to Corvette.

I'll be looking forward to seeing this place grow and I hope it can become as helpful and informative as some of the larger, more active forums that have been around for a while.

These places can really come in handy as far as tips, tricks and places to get good deals on stuff you'd otherwise never know about.

I find the Terrain Forum very informative..One thing thou sum people go to extremes when it comes to problems they are having with their new cars..I am not putting anyone down but for me I am buying the Terrain to upgrade hopefully from my Toyota Rav4..I am excited on getting the vehicle and am very patient..When I read sum of the problems or quirks I think to myself that this is a brand new SUV on the market and anticipate problems..What i usually do is drive the car about a month and write down things I think are problems and then take back to the dealer..Wow from all my readings I will be knowing problems before they even seem relevent to me,hehe..Oh well again I enjoy this Terrain Forum and also enjoy reading everyones complaints..When I get mine I am sure I will find problems also..A pleasure to ride along with you all and hope to get to know many of you more..Thanks

Welcome, nitti48! Yeah, car forums on the web tend to draw people with either the most problems or those that are at least the most vocal about the problems they have. It's to be expected. There's a much bigger draw to seek out help with a problem than to seek out a forum to brag about how trouble-free your vehicle is! Smiley

Hey all,

Michael from the Wichita Kansas area.  I thouroughly dislike shopping for a new car due to the feeding frenzy that starts when you pull onto most lots along with the "let me take this to my manager" runs.  Lucky for me I found a dealer that after letting me know they had ordered a Terrain to my specs and I informed them that I wouldnt be making an hour drive to haggle, one of their managers called me back within a few minutes and offered invoice less rebates.  While I know they were still making money on their end, its what they are entitled to.  They need to make the green same as anyone else and besides, it was a price I would have wanted in the first place.

We started our car search looking for something to carry our dogs AND the kids at the same time (a 100lb Golden Retriever and a growing English Mastiff take up alot of space).  I had taken a look and a short ride in an Equinox which we liked from the get go but the sticker for what we wanted was still more than I would have preferred and we continued to look at the lower priced vehicles.  Not finding something there that would work for us and with interest rates getting better, we ended up going with a Terrain.  We are now awaiting a SLT1 Mocha Steel with the Brownstone leather seats, the 2.4L engine and the power liftgate.  I may add the chrome mirror covers, door handles and look into some of these aftermarket floor covers.  For now though, we are waiting, waiting, waiting...........  Shouldnt be long now.   Smiley

Welcome nchoman!

Enjoy the forum and all the information that's here.

Glad to hear you got such a great deal.  I helped my sister buy a 'Nox a couple weeks ago, and was amazed at how much I had to haggle with them on price.  You live only a couple hours from me, but the dealers here don't seem to want to admit that they can be had for invoice.  She did finally get it for invoice, but we found out later that they snuck in a rebate without our knowledge.  So it wasn't actually for invoice, but quite a bit higher.   While we were happy with the price, it's just sad they feel they need to work that sneaky.

Hi my name is Brian and I work for a Landscape Company and own my own Landscape company on the side... I mostly drive my Chevy Diesel Truck but love when I get to drive the 2010 Equinox that we got for my wife...

It is a great car and I am thinking about some mods...  I would have never of bought an older model Equinox.
